I guess you could say Satchels are my signature bag style.  I will try to have several varieties to choose from at CRAFTED.

I've been sewing away making as many bags as I possibly can. This will be the only sale I'll be at this Fall. If you want to get a Snootsie bag, Oct. 28-29 at the WAG.

Beautiful Satchel

I haven't had much time to prepare for the upcoming sale.  I managed to squeeze in a couple leather bags.  I think this turquoise bag is the most beautiful bag I've ever made.  The leather is divine, the lining was carefully choose to contrast perfectly with the leather colours.  The small leather saddle bag, seems to be a favorite of most... Especially when I make it out of this insanely soft leather.  Only at Lucky Girl Popup in Winnipeg.

It's been a while since I've been inspired by some vintage fabric.  At first, I wasn't sure if I picked the right bag pattern for this material, but it's grown on me, and I'll be sad when it's gone.

Forgetful Blogger

Today I remembered I had this blog.  I spent most of my day reflecting on the path I have taken.  I started listening to the Jealous Curator.  Which has been rather interesting, all of those Art School memories, feelings and choices are brought back to the surface.  I'm constantly questioning what I am doing and where I want to be.  I am contemplating bringing another sewing machine into our home, this one isn't for making bags, but quilts.  I have fallen hard for quilts, now I feel a struggle in my creative/work life.  The biggest struggle I find in life is having to spend 8 hours a day working a job that I feel financially obligated to.  Bags have never been an income for me, I don't really have the drive to make it a business for me. I've though about it, but I've constantly struggled with the aspects or organizing a financially lucrative business.  I'm a maker not a manager.  Anyway that's enough reflection for now.  Here is the beautiful quilt I made inspired be Maureen Cracknell's wanderlust quilt. I believe the geese pattern is called Happy Geese.  This is just a small snippet of the actual quilt. 

A little Christmas Treat!

So I decided I needed a break from bags.   I picked up my quilt from the quilter, now I just want to work on quilts.  So I decided I would work on a little Christmas treat for the upcoming sale.  This will be a precious keepsake present, for a very special person.  There will only be one, as I'll be keeping the other one for myself.

What an Event! So many incredibly talented people in such a beautiful and creative space.  I'm so honoured to have been able to take part and share my love of craft.  If you didn't make it to Crafted, no worries, I still have a good selection of bags left, and will work hard for the next few weeks for Third and Bird at the Vineyard Church Dec. 5

It's always gratifying seeing a batch of pretty purses altogether.  Two of these are spoken for and three of these will be available at CRAFTED. 

Spaceadelic

It's funny, I've made this satchel in every kind of leather, acid green, turquoise, grey suede and it's always awesome.  Black is always classic and a favourite or most but every time I make it in a crazy leather... I bet it's the first bag to go and it is.  

Experimenting!

I had way too much fun making these coin purses.  I used to make this purse when I first started making bags.  This time they are quite a bit fancier.

I'm such a huge fan of Cotton and Steel fabric, it's such a pleasure working with their beautiful fabrics.
